"Silverbones" Album by Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti | Season 3
Episode 1: "Silverbones" Album by Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and her band in Amsterdam
In this episode 1 of season 3 of the comusik Podcast, we are presenting “Silverbones”, an album by Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and her band of multi-talented instrumentalists based in Amsterdam.
In the last six years, Ibelisse has focused on writing music from a speculative point of view, inspired by the cosmologies of textile work in Bolivia, from new perspectives. This first album is part of the result of these years.
“Silverbones” is an ode to Cerro Rico, a forgotten and plundered Cerro de la Plata, in the landscapes of Potosi, Bolivia, which has been hollowed out to the core, to subsidize the world as we know it now. It is an album in the form of a serenade to that place and was born from a collection of various sonic fascinations and the confluence of artists that have led to a ride that assembles a wide musical language: from Pop to Jazz, from noise to Andean folk music, from electronic music to trance.
This work of sound art, points out this multiplicity of genres, and tries to bring them together at a meeting point, that is to say, in the form of several songs. It was released in July 2022, and made together with Jochem van Tol , Frank Rosaly and Liú Mottes.
